Chairman of the Board
Kingwood Chorale & Chamber Orchestra
Now celebrating our Silver Anniversary season, the Kingwood Chorale, under the baton of Artistic Director, Todd Miller, has truly fulfilled the vision of founding director Dudley Cavanaugh, which was to enrich the cultural arts of Kingwood with great classical music events and chamber concerts.
Kingwood Big Band
Founded in 2003, the Kingwood Big Band is currently in its 10th season. Founding Director, James Stubbs, now the Dean of Arts and Humanities for Lone Star College Kingwood, started the band as a community band for jazz-loving instrumentalists to find an outlet for their passion. Since that time, the band has become a mix of Lone Star students, professional musicians and community musicians.
Originally, the Kingwood Musical Arts Society (KMAS), The Lake Houston Musical Arts Society (LHMAS) provides funding for the Kingwood Chorale and Chamber Orchestra and the Kingwood Big Band. LHMAS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been enriching the cultural arts of Lake Houston area with classical music events and chamber concerts since the formation of KMAS in 1988 by Founding Director, the late Dudley Cavenaugh.
